What are Veneers?
In this video, Dr. Victor Apel, a dedicated Melbourne veneer dentist discusses the different types of porcelain veneers and how they are used to make your smile full and bright.
I’ve had patients ask me about, what are veneers? Veneers are thin layers that go over the front of the tooth to change either the color, the shape, or the size of a particular tooth to give it and the rest of the teeth the smile that a person really wants to have. Some people have asked about Lumineers. Lumineers are just thinner versions of porcelain veneers themselves.
The difference between them not only is the thickness of the material, but the durability. Where Lumineers are thinner, there’s less tooth preparation, but they can chip and crack. Regular veneers, prepped properly and bonded properly, can last a good long time for an individual, as long as they take good care of it, which would include regular maintenance and visits to the dentist to have them cleaned properly.
