Following a tooth extraction, it is important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and to allow for the healing process to begin. We ask that you bite down on a gauze pad for 45 minutes following the procedure. If abnormal bleeding persists, please feel free to bite down on wet gauze for another 30 minutes. It is important to remember the four S’s: no smoking, spitting, sucking through a straw, and no soda. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he graduated from the University of Louisville’s School of Dental Medicine, a facility for training physicians and dentists.
